The Brazilian Secretariat of Prizes and Bets (SPA) has issued a statement revealing the approval of 21 new license holders under the newly established regulatory framework in Brazil.

Out of the 21 new licensees, 20 operators have received a provisional license in the past, whereas one company did not hold any license prior to being allowed to legally operate in the country.

Taking into account the latest 21 approvals, the total number of betting operators that are licensed to operate in Brazil reached 35. From here, the total number of companies that have either a definitive or provisional approval to operate in the country increased to 69.

Moreover, during this round of approvals, two additional companies decided to pay for additional licenses, a move that saw the total number of license holders under the new regulatory framework increase to 71.

The complete list of companies and their respective brand that obtained certification after the latest round of approval includes:

  • BELL VENTURES DIGITAL LTDA – BandBet
  • NEXUS INTERNATIONAL LTDA – MegaPosta
  • OLAVIR LTDA – Rivalo
  • STAKE BRAZIL LTDA – Stake
  • JOGO PRINCIPAL LTDA – GigaBet, QGBet, VivaSorte

  • NVBT GAMING LTDA – Novibet
  • BETFAIR BRASIL LTDA – BetFair
  • VENTMEAR BRASIL S.A. – SportingBet, BetBoo
  • KAIZEN GAMING BRASIL LTDA – Betano

The new licensing framework of Brazil states that a single definitive license approval requires a $5.2 million (R$30 million) payment and is valid for the next five years. Moreover, by obtaining such a license, the companies are allowed to operate up to three betting platforms/brands under the domain “.bet.br”.

When it comes to regulatory guidelines and approvals in Brazil, more than 5,200 illegal gambling websites have been taken down since October 2024 through a joint effort between the SPA and the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) of Brazil.

In light of this development, the Brazilian government has implemented a strict four-stage review protocol for new license holders that mandates stern security measures, compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, and responsible gambling protocols.
