Sports betting provider Cashpoint officially transitioned its operations in Denmark to the Merkur Bets banner on September 22, 2026. Following successful brand transformations across Germany and Austria, the ongoing roll-out marks another major milestone in the Merkur Group’s strategic realignment of its sports betting portfolio and its broader push toward standardizing its international presence.
Since entering the Danish market in 2012, Cashpoint Denmark ApS has expanded steadily to become the country’s leading land-based sports betting operator, capturing a dominant market share of over 50 percent. As part of the comprehensive relaunch, the company has integrated its operations into the unified Merkur brand identity, updating signage and visual styling across approximately 200 retail betting shops.
Technical overhaul and EveryMatrix integration
Beyond aesthetic updates, the relaunch delivers extensive technical enhancements across both retail and digital product verticals. A sophisticated digital platform from EveryMatrix has replaced the previous in-house software solution, establishing a robust, unified technical foundation. For Danish customers, the changes are immediately apparent through redesigned user interfaces on retail betting terminals and a completely revamped online platform that, for the first time, combines land-based sports betting, online sports wagering, and an integrated online casino.
Commenting on the upgrade, Henrik Greve Jensen, COO of Merkur Bets Denmark, stated:
“Standing still is not an option for us, and the next chapter calls for something stronger. With a comprehensive technical overhaul and strong international collaboration, we will make our established position even more future-proof.”
Paving the way for European standardization
Denmark represents the starting point for a wider cross-market platform migration, with operations in Belgium, Germany, and Austria also slated for transition to EveryMatrix technology. Elaborating on the broader corporate vision, Mathias Dahms, Managing Director of Sports Betting at the Merkur Group, explained:
“With Merkur Bets, our international sports betting offerings are being brought closer together under a single brand. The digital platform transition in Denmark is also an important step towards a common product and technology base for our European markets. This will enable us to roll out product improvements more quickly and across all markets in future, thereby continuously enhancing the offering for our customers.”
