The retail group announced its official name change to Plesio on October 21, 2026. Derived from the Greek word for proximity, the new identity reinforces the company’s strategic positioning within the local retail sector.
Since 2024, the Group has placed proximity at the heart of its business model, aiming to build a retail approach rooted in human connection and tailored to each individual local area.
To support this corporate transition, the organization unveiled a modern and reassuring logo designed to unite its seven prominent brands under a shared vision. The unified brand family comprises Monoprix, Casino, Spar, Vival, Cdiscount, Franprix, and Naturalia. Simple, concise, and memorable, the name Plesio evokes the fundamental joy of engaging in commerce, welcoming customers, and delivering dedicated service.
Executive leadership perspective
Philippe Palazzi, the Group’s CEO, commented:
“With this new identity, Plesio, we are taking a further step in the Group’s development, guided by a single conviction: the future of retail lies in proximity. Plesio thus becomes the family name that unites our seven brands and embodies our ambition: to foster a form of retail that is both useful and human—one that simplifies daily life and builds connections. We intend to roll out our concepts, expand our takeaway food and service offerings, and provide our franchise partners with the tools they need to succeed—all while maintaining an unwavering commitment to excellent service.”
Expanding local convenience and franchise support
The rebranding strategy reflects a broader industry movement toward hyper-localized retail solutions. By bringing diverse banners such as Monoprix, Casino, and Cdiscount under the umbrella name Plesio, the organization aims to streamline operations while empowering franchise partners with enhanced digital and physical retail tools. The ongoing rollout will prioritize optimized convenience concepts, enriched takeaway food options, and strengthened community engagement across all operating regions.
