Ukraine’s gambling regulator, PlayCity, has issued penalties exceeding UAH 4.75 million against Slots U.A. LLC, the operating company behind the BetKing and 777.ua brands.
Enforcing compliance on licensed operators
Announced via the regulator’s official Telegram channel, the enforcement action stems from unauthorized third-party deposits and a failure to rectify previously identified regulatory breaches.
According to disclosures from PlayCity, the primary component of the penalty package involved a UAH 4.32 million fine issued after the operator allowed third parties to deposit money into player accounts. Furthermore, the regulator imposed an additional UAH 432,350 sanction after concluding that Slots U.A. failed to comply with an earlier order requiring the correction of previously identified violations. This follows an earlier penalty in May, when PlayCity fined the company over UAH 432,000 for failing to provide requested information within the mandatory timeframe.
PlayCity’s ongoing enforcement sweep extends beyond individual operator audits. Earlier in the month, the regulator penalized UAF Marketing LLC with a fine of nearly UAH 5.2 million following identified infractions in promotional materials and online content during the 2026/27 Ukrainian Cup football season. Since replacing the former regulatory body in 2025, PlayCity has introduced various initiatives, including digital reporting platforms and partnerships with technology providers like YouTube to restrict unlicensed offshore advertising.
Recent nationwide data suggests these measures are successfully bolstering market channelization, with 86% of online casino players currently engaging exclusively with licensed operators.
