Immediate Regulatory Action Follows Enquiries Revealing Suspected Social Responsibility and Anti-Money Laundering Failings
The Gambling Commission has officially suspended the operating licence of BresBet Ltd, which runs bresbet.com, alongside the operating licence of Bet St George Ltd, which operates betstgeorge.com.
The suspension affects BresBet under operating licence number 065252-R-340096-002 and Bet St George Ltd under operating licence number 067818-R-341699-001. This regulatory enforcement action follows Commission enquiries that revealed suspected social responsibility and anti-money laundering failings.
Ongoing Licensing Reviews and Consumer Protections
In response to these findings, the Commission is actively carrying out a review of both licences under section 116 of the Gambling Act 2005. The suspension will remain in place until the regulatory body is satisfied that the businesses are compliant.
The Commission has made it clear to both operators that during the course of the suspension, they are expected to treat consumers fairly and keep them fully informed of any developments that impact them.
Importantly, the immediate suspension does not prevent either operator from allowing consumers to access their accounts and withdraw funds. Customers can contact both businesses through their websites.
