As iGaming suppliers face intensifying pressure to provide auditable ESG data, industry pioneer Play’n GO has released its comprehensive 2025 Sustainability Report.

As iGaming suppliers face intensifying pressure to provide auditable ESG data, industry pioneer Play’n GO has released its comprehensive 2025 Sustainability Report.

Marking the company’s 20th year in operation, the report details significant progress across its four core pillars, Players, Partners, People, and Planet, while establishing a new benchmark for transparency in the digital gambling sector.

Exceeding Global Climate Targets

A primary highlight of the 2025 Sustainability Report is Play’n GO’s extraordinary progress in carbon mitigation. The company announced that it has already exceeded its long-term objective of reducing Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 90%, achieving this milestone well ahead of the timelines mandated by The Climate Pledge and the Paris Agreement.

Furthermore, the supplier recorded a 69% absolute reduction in Scope 3 emissions compared to its 2023 base year, keeping its total material emissions for the 2025 period below 500 MTCO2e.

Land-Based Expansion and Eco-Design

The report also reflects on the supplier’s strategic move into the retail space via its partnership with Genting UK. Launched in late 2025 across more than 30 UK properties, including Genting Stratford and Resorts World Birmingham, this expansion utilizes the BOOM Slots cabinet.

Play’n GO highlighted that this solution was specifically engineered to reduce electronic waste and minimize hardware energy requirements, proving that digital-to-land-based transitions can align with modern environmental standards.

The Leadership Vision for Credible Data

Vanessa Björkbacka, Director of CSR at Play’n GO, stated that sustainability is now hardwired into the firm’s design philosophy:

“We have always believed that great entertainment should be fun, safe and fair. This report reflects two decades of learning, evolution and commitment to doing things the right way. Sustainability is not a separate initiative for us — it is embedded into how we design our games, how we work with partners, and how we build the business for the long term. As expectations on transparency and accountability continue to rise, we see it as our responsibility to lead. Our partners, regulators and players all benefit when sustainability data is credible, measurable and meaningful.”

By aligning its disclosures with all 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, Play’n GO is positioning itself as a governance leader during a period of transition where ESG reporting is moving from a voluntary exercise into a mandatory baseline for European operators.
