Sands China Ltd cumulative donations for responsible gaming initiatives have now reached nearly MOP 10 million.

Reinforcing its long-term commitment to social responsibility, Sands China Ltd. has donated MOP 1 million to five prominent local non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

This latest contribution brings the operator’s cumulative responsible gaming (RG) funding to nearly MOP 10 million since 2006, aligning with the Macao SAR government’s strategy to build a sustainable gaming ecosystem.

Community Outreach and Financial Literacy

The funds will be distributed among the Youth Volunteers Association of Macao, Sheng Kung Hui, YMCA of Macau, Macao Leisure Industry Employees Home, and the Bosco Youth Service Network. These groups plan to launch diverse initiatives, including:

  • Parent-child financial management workshops.
  • Community roadshows and sharing sessions.
  • Interactive quiz games and short film productions focused on RG awareness.

Michael Lee, Vice President of Casino Compliance at Sands China Ltd, presented the cheques at The Venetian Macao, noting that the company has supported these organizations for 21 years.

“The company’s partnership for many years made the concept of responsible gaming becoming a part of the routine life in Macao,” Lee stated.

A Legacy of Proactive Safeguards

Sands China has a history of pioneering player protections in the region, having introduced the first integrated resort self-exclusion program in 2004. In 2025 alone, the company conducted over 150 RG promotion events, reaching 150,000 participants and providing 30,000 hours of specialized staff training.

The establishment of the Sands Responsible Gaming Academy last year further formalized these efforts, ensuring that harm prevention remains at the core of the company’s internal culture and public outreach.
