BetPlay and Súper Astro have generated record-breaking contributions to Colombia's national healthcare system.

In a landmark year for the regulated gaming industry, BetPlay and Súper Astro have solidified their positions as the most profitable and popular gaming products in Colombia.

Owned by Corredor Empresarial, these two powerhouses generated a staggering COP 347.587 billion in state contributions throughout 2025, marking a transformative period for public financing in the region.

According to Coljuegos President Marco Emilio Hincapié, these funds are not merely corporate profits but essential lifelines for the nation’s social infrastructure:

“These resources paid to the Nation were transferred to finance the health system. In addition, they represent an 11% increase compared to the monopoly revenues paid by both products in 2024”.

Sustained Growth and Online Expansion

The momentum has shown no signs of slowing as the industry moves through 2026. From January to mid-March 2026, the two products have already contributed approximately COP 106.259 billion to the state. This represents a 1.56% increase compared to the same period last year, signaling a robust upward trend in player engagement and operational efficiency.

Coljuegos attributes this consistent growth to the strategic expansion of “novel games,” a category that includes advanced online betting platforms and modernized lottery products like Súper Astro. Hincapié noted the agency’s success in this area: “From the entity, we have managed to strengthen the industry of innovative games, including Súper Astro and online betting. That is why we continue to make history every day in raising resources for health from the sector”.

The scale of BetPlay’s operations is particularly noteworthy, with the platform recording total deposits of COP 5.5 trillion and generating COP 745.594 billion in VAT last year. Simultaneously, Súper Astro recorded sales of COP 754.820 billion, accounting for roughly 13% of the national gaming segment.

Long-Term Strategy and Integrity

Looking ahead, Coljuegos has outlined an ambitious five-year roadmap for Súper Astro, aiming to generate more than COP 4.1 trillion in sales. “Our expectation is that this significant increase in sales will represent around COP 781 billion in additional transfers to the subsidized health system in Colombia over the next five years,” Hincapié explained. To achieve this, the regulator is collaborating with Corredor Empresarial on targeted marketing for games like Astro Sol and Astro Luna.

Furthermore, Coljuegos is prioritizing operational integrity by appointing Consorcio Interventoría Itecoplan as a new supervisory body. This entity will oversee technical, financial, and legal compliance across all 32 departments of Colombia. Hincapié concluded by emphasizing the collective mission:

“This joint effort between regulator, operator, and supervisor is intended to make a significant contribution to the financing of the health system… Our mission at Coljuegos is to maximize the resources transferred to the State through exploitation rights”.
