Buzz Bingo, a leading UK bingo operator, has announced a substantial £25 million (approximately $34 million) multi-year investment program designed to completely modernize its estate of land-based clubs.

The ambitious plan is backed by a new funding package from Barclays and aims to transform the venues with upgraded technology, contemporary designs, and a robust digital infrastructure to enhance the customer experience.

The program’s first phase in 2025 will see eight clubs fully refurbished. The first of these, Sheffield Parkway, has already reopened to the public, revealing a fully redesigned main hall, new lounge and bar areas, and commissioned artwork from local artists to foster community connection.

The revamped club now features state-of-the-art digital screens and dynamic audio-visual systems, all housed in modern interiors designed to attract a new generation of players. The company reported the reopening resulted in a 200% increase in footfall compared to the previous week.

Seven more locations, including major sites in Leeds and Stockport, are scheduled for refurbishment later this year.

Beyond aesthetic upgrades, the wider investment includes the rollout of over 10,000 next-generation electronic bingo terminals and new self-service kiosks across the entire estate.

This initiative is a cornerstone of Buzz Bingo’s five-year strategy, first announced in 2023, which focuses on leveraging its omnichannel capabilities to drive sustainable growth.

The company’s recent financial results support this forward-looking investment, with its FY23 report showing a 14% rise in EBITDA and a 31% increase in online revenue.

CEO Dominic Mansour commented:

Our new investment programme will see clubs across our estate being transformed. This is all about modernizing bingo for the next generation of players and taking our clubs to the next level to offer a truly unmatched experience.
